On special occasions; be it birthdays or gatherings, searching around thinking hard for a good venue to accommodate a big group with great ambience and quality food can be tough at times.
Usually we just pick some random place based on the feedback we read from blogs and online reviews. Undeniably blogs are now the main search stream people go for; be it searching for food, travel tips and practically everything.
It was an old friend’s birthday in April and hence we gathered at the Boat house restaurant in Taman Tun for dinner on a Saturday night. Cuisine that night was Western Food and we were scratching our heads thinking what to order from the menu.
I liked the ambience of the place; though not big but rated comfortable and cosy for diners. Food was something I didn't quite fancy as my order was horrendous though the rest found theirs were rather edible.
TOTAL DAMAGE that night = RM 700
(NOOOOOOOOO!!!! So expensive) I reckon a 10 course Chinese dinner would have been a better option!
Overall I would say the ambience out beat the food and if you’re looking for a cosy corner with not so high expectation of the FOOD, go ahead.
The Boat House Restaurant at TTDI

I told you the ambience was lovely... dim lightings with large mirror on the wall, cosy sofas and you see large sheets of white paper over the table cloth for easy cleaning, which later became my drawing palette! :P

Wait no more and we started taking photos! :P

Food food stay still... *snap*

Old time buddy - Saw Cheng and Me! Great to see you again babe :P

The Food Lovers in action... HAHAHA! :P

Who says with DSLR you cannot camwhore? LOL! :P

Cempedak Chicken over a basket of green salad RM 9.90! The local cempedak fruit stuffed with seasoned chicken, deep fried with batter coating! Oooo lalala... something unique and worth trying... :)

Sizzling chicken RM 35.80 which was soooo dissapointing. Dearie tried avoding the sauce and I tasted it personally... The sauce simply do not go with the chicken at all... WEIRD! It seems you're eating a meal drenched in soup instead of sauce, I have to say total crap (apologies)

Picatta chicken RM 28.80... I'm afraid this was nothing to shout about too!

Forgot the name... :P

Carbonara spaghetti... Judging from the color, it was plain and somehow didn't bring the true taste of Carbonara to live...

Poseidon platter for 2 pax at RM 78.80...comes with oyster, mini mushroom soup and mixed grill platter. Good option for sharing I guess...

The mix platter topped with mushrooms - Oyster, beef, chicken, prawns over a bed of salad beneath...

The baked shank RM 59.90! WHAT?????? freaking expensive wei... I reckon you can get better ones at secret recipe at more decent prices...

Mee Mamak RM 16.90... NOOOOOOOO!!!! I rather pay RM 3.50 the most for a mee mamak at a local mamak stall which of course taste better in any case but u can minues off the prawns... Who cares anyway?

The main star with his birthday cake and "present"! HAHA!

We saw some cute doggy owners who brought their dogs along.. So to all DOG LOVERS! This place allows you bring along your pet and dine at the same time... one plus point for that :P

Group photo! POSE POSE.... SNAP SNAP!

Ok that's about it for now.... Up and coming will be more lovely photos of Taipei!!!!! :)
